VIDEO: South Indian Food in Malaysia (Banana Leaf)

Thank you for watching!

(If you can’t see the video, watch South Indian Food on YouTube here)

I can honestly say, it’s one of the best restaurants I’ve been to this year; It was so incredibly good I went back three times in a row – dinner, than breakfast, than the next dinner.

The food was extraordinary.

P.S. I’m not the only one who is enthusiastic about South Indian Food either, the random necklace vendor who made an appearance in the video was pretty excited too!!!

I love eating on the Banana Leaves when I travel down south!! It gives such a wonderful flavor to the already mouth watering food 🙂
A great video as always Mark 🙂
Where in India are you planning to visit, is Mumbai on the list?

Hey Arti, I agree, it makes the food taste even better. I was going to contact you soon, but I’ll be for sure coming to India towards the end of December, flying into Kolkata as the ticket was the cheapest from Bangkok and then going to travel through the North and possibly come to Mumbai too. Do you live in Mumbai? Would be great to meet you in India!

End of December would be a good time as the weather will be cool then. You will enjoy eating as food digests easily in winter!! Yes, I live in Mumbai 🙂 Do contact me when you leave for India.

If I were to list the top 1000 meals eaten in my life (if I could remember them all) each and every one of the top slots would be occupied by South Indian thali meals, whether on banana leaves or stainless steel thali platters, doesn’t matter, though eating off a banana leaf is great fun.

I want to shout from the rooftops, “If Indian cuisine has failed ’till now to move you into a rapturous state of tastebud ecstasy, then when you are in Souther India, go to any random thali (meals) restaurant and get ready to have your food enthusiasm blast into the next stratosphere.” Also many other SE Asian countries have sizeable enough South Indian communities to have South Indian restaurants serving thali meals.

99% of the Indian restaurants in the West serve WESTERNIZED North Indian based cuisine. If you like this you probably are going to love South Indian. If the Indian restaurants at home have not rocked your tastebuds, give South Indian a try when you have the opportunity. This food enthusiast considers it the world’s very greatest, most complex, most sublime cuisine.

If you already enjoy the North Indian-style cuisine you’re eating at home, when you go to India you are in for a treat. My second favorite cuisine is Northern Indian, authentically prepared anywhere in India. Absolute heaven.

Thank you so much for sharing Colleen, and it’s just so true that South Indian food has the power to rock ones taste buds and take culinary satisfaction to new heights. I can’t wait to visit India someday to just eat!
