Thank you Mark for posting all of this and also for your YouTube channel! I like to watch your videos and I am one of your fans in your growing fan-base. There is a lot of passion in your videos and it even makes eating insects looks delicious 🙂
I will be going to Bangkok in June 2016 and I will be taking note of all of these magical food places which you have been mentioning.
Best regards from Belgium,
William

Hi Mark, my name is Jehan and I was born in London but raised in Mumbai. My dad introduced me to food at a very young age and since then I have found the love of my life. I even did a bachelors degree in hospitality management from Mumbai. South east asian cuisine is by far my favourite cuisine. Nothing brings a smile to my face more than a nice big bowl of noodle soup. If I could travel and settle down in a place for a couple of months/years it would have to have to be Japan. In fact I am coming to Bangkok this year to study Thai cuisine. Your videos have been really interesting and helpful to me.

Hey Jehan, thank you so much for your kind words, and it’s great that you have a passion for food as well. Glad you’ll be coming to Thailand to study the food, that’s going to be a lot of fun. Will you be studying at a school?

I’ve only had bundaegi before (roasted silkworm). The look is a bit offputting but tastes just fine to me! 🙂

Nice post Mark – are the silk worms the same as what is called a bamboo worm up north, I enjoyed those very much in a Ahkha village.

Hey Paul, I think made a mistake labeling on the video. You’re right – the bamboo worms are the long white ones, and the silk worms are the smaller brown worms. Glad you like them too!

One of the many reasons for me to go back to Thailand, I didn’t get to try the bugs! Maybe I wasn’t drinking enough beer, won’t make that mistake twice.

Haha, next time Paul!

I could just never get myself to do it. Maybe a few more beers would be required 😉

That’s alright Dean, they would go down easier with a bit of beer!
